Terms of Service

v1.1 (draft, under operator legal review) — 2 October 2026. Supersedes v1.0 of 12 July 2026, which it keeps in full and extends for the People vault, households, children's entries, name changes and account deletion. Plain-language terms; drafted for legal review under Australian Consumer Law, with India's DPDP Act 2023 in view. This page is published in English only while it is under review, so there is one document to review and sign off.

What Ankved is

A numerology calculation and record-keeping tool. Numerology is a traditional belief system; Ankved presents its calculations and traditional readings for self-reflection and entertainment. Nothing in this product is medical, legal, financial or relationship advice, and no outcome is promised from any reading, name spelling or number choice.

Your vault is yours, and it is local

The people, businesses and groups you add are stored in your own browser. You can export the whole vault to a file at any time from Settings, and we recommend you do so regularly: a browser that is cleared, reset or replaced takes the vault with it, and without an account there is no copy anywhere else for us to restore. If you create an account, a copy is synced so your own devices agree with each other; sync is a convenience, not a backup service, and we give no commitment that a synced copy will be available at a particular time.

Adding other people

• You are responsible for having the consent of any adult you add, and for complying with the privacy law that applies to you.
• A child's entry sits under your consent as the responsible adult. You confirm you are entitled to give it. A child's entry is never profiled and is never used for advertising or marketing.
• Groups — a household, your clients — are your own labels. Grouping people here creates no relationship, authority or entitlement between them in the real world, and gives nobody else access to your vault.
• Do not add anyone in order to make claims to them about guaranteed outcomes, and do not present a reading from this product as professional advice.

Name changes

Suggested spellings, shortlists, "Mark chosen" and the name-change history are records of what you decided, inside this product. Changing a name in real life has legal and administrative consequences this product does not know about and does not handle: identity documents, school and employment records, bank, tax and credit records, visas, licences, property titles and professional registrations, and the registration of a child's name within the period your jurisdiction allows. Verify every consequence with the relevant authority, and with a qualified professional where it matters, before you change anything. You accept that any such decision is yours alone.

Results depend on the school you chose

Numerology has several schools that disagree with each other. Every number, verdict, band and suggestion on this site is produced by the letter table and Lo Shu school selected in Settings, and the school in force is disclosed alongside the result together with the working that produced it. Change the school and the results change. A verdict such as "friendly" or "enemy" is a label from a tradition applied to two digits — it is not a finding about a person, a marriage, a child, a business or anyone's health or money.

Plans, caps and deletion

• Tiers differ only in how much you may store and which views are open. Prices are not yet set; while that is so, every tier is available at no charge, no payment details are collected, and no price is displayed.
• Reaching a cap stops new additions. It never deletes, hides or degrades what you already have, and we do not use pressure or countdown tactics at a cap.
• You may delete your account and data at any time from the Account page, choosing in the same step whether to keep or wipe the local copy in this browser. Deleting is not reversible, and we cannot recover a deleted vault — export first if you may want it.

The read-only API

The public API wraps the same calculations, carries no accounts or keys, and may change or be rate limited without notice. Use of it is subject to these terms, including the disclaimers above; do not present its output as advice, and do not use it to make guaranteed-outcome claims to anyone.

Your responsibilities

• Decisions you make (including name changes) are yours; consult qualified professionals for consequential matters.
• If you keep records about clients, you are responsible for having their consent and complying with the privacy law that applies to you.
• Keep your export files and account credentials safe.

Service

• The free tier is provided as-is, without uptime commitments.
• Local-first design means your data is not dependent on our servers; we still recommend regular exports.
• We may update calculations and content; the school/table in force is always disclosed alongside results.
• Consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law are not excluded by these terms.

Acceptable use

Don't use Ankved to harass others, to make claims of guaranteed outcomes to third parties, or to provide regulated advice.
